FAQs – Applying for UB Trade Membership
I don’t meet all the requirements. Will I be approved?
If you do not meet the requirements, we still encourage you to complete your application. Our UB Trade Representative will reach out with additional questions.
All UB Trade members are required to provide a valid business license or GST registration, along with professional certification or proof of membership in a relevant professional organization, or a Website or Social Media URL, to be eligible for the program.
Why does the UB Trade program have requirements?
We want clients to feel confident when they hire a business with UB Trade membership. This indicates that they are working with a professional that has education and experience behind them.
How soon can I use my membership after I am approved?
Once you've been approved, you will receive an email welcoming you to the program and you can make use of your discount in-store and online right away!
What if my business needs multiple membership accounts or discount credentials?
Each qualified individual at your business will need to apply for their own membership by filling out the application form here.
They will need a scanned copy of your business license or GST number and either professional certification, proof of membership in a relevant professional organization, or a Website or Social Media URL, to complete their application.
How long does it take to receive my membership approval?
Once you’ve completed the application, we'll contact you within 5-10 business days with the status of your membership approval. Your approval email will contain all the membership details you need to redeem your 15% discount in-store and online.
I don’t know if I am already a UB Trade member. How can I check?
Please email ubtrade@urbanbarn.com and we can confirm whether or not you are currently enrolled the in the UB Trade program.
FAQs – Using your UB Trade membership
What do I get with my UB Trade membership?
As a UB Trade member, you will enjoy exclusive benefits including:
- 15% off all regular-priced product including Custom

- Recognition and seasonal gifts
Can I shop on your website with my discount?
Yes! To shop with your 15% discount online, simply log in or create an account using your UB Trade email. Once logged in, your discount will automatically apply at checkout.
I don't see my discount online?
Remember to always log in to your account using your UB Trade email while shopping on urbanbarn.com.
If you’ve shopped online prior to creating your account, you may need to start a new shopping session to see the discount reflect online. Try emptying your cart and logging in & out of your account.
Can my client make a purchase using my membership details in-store?
To make an in-store purchase for your client, you must be present with a valid photo ID, confirm your account and consent to applying your discount. Your client can pay for the purchase, however, your name must be on the order.
Can my client make a purchase using my membership details online?
It is not possible to extend the Trade discount to a client who is shopping online, however, you can make an online purchase on behalf of your client.
Can I make a purchase over the phone with my discount?
Yes, we'll just need proper account validation and full payment. Purchases over the phone can only be made to stores and are not available for online orders.
I haven’t been approved yet. Can I use my discount?
The UB Trade discount is not available to use until you've been approved as a program member. If you applied for membership more than 10 business days ago, please contact ubtrade@urbanbarn.com to check the status of your application.
How long is my membership valid?
Your membership is valid for two calendar years. It will stay active if you make at least one purchase within that period. To check if your membership is still active, email ubtrade@urbanbarn.com.
