Tell us a little bit about yourself and your space.

My name is Joni Matthews. I live in Fort McMurray, Alberta with my husband and our 6 year old son. I work full time in the oil field during the week and on my days off I love styling and designing our new home. I get lots of inspiration from Pinterest and all the amazing home accounts I follow on Instagram. My home design journey is far from complete and I’m loving every minute of it.

How would you describe your decorating style?

I would describe my design style as mostly mid century modern with a little farmhouse mixed in. I love wood and earthy tones and the coziness plants bring in.

Tell us about your favourite Urban Barn piece and why you love it.

My favourite Urban Barn piece has to be the Stellen Armchair. I started with one as my husband was quite hesitant until he sat in it!!! Wasn’t long after that we purchased another and these are without a doubt his favourite chairs. In addition to being VERY comfortable, I absolutely love the wooden arms and the mid century design was absolutely perfect for our space!
