Tell us a little bit about yourself and your space.
We wanted to create a space that was full of comfort, relaxing, but most of all, family friendly. We needed durability but also wanted a mature style that we can grow with. We love entertaining, and as a result, often have visitors. Seating is important. We needed plenty of space for lounging and gathering. We also needed to ensure that the pieces would be able to handle our pet friendly, messy child home. We have a 10 year old son and a 2 year old Golden Retriever. The pieces needed to work for us. Mature comfort and the durability.
How would you describe your decorating style?
Our decorating style would be described as Industrial Contemporary. I love to mix fabrics, textures, woods and metals, new and old. I also love to support local by shopping within my community. Repurposing and upcycling when able has allowed us to really change the atmosphere of our living space.
Tell us about your favourite Urban Barn piece and why you love it.
Our favourite Urban Barn piece would have to be the Renfrew Leather sofa. We needed a couch that allowed my very tall husband to relax, but also fit all four of us while watching a movie. This couch also has the durability and wearability since its leather. The softest, coziest leather. By adding the accent Mondo chair, brought in the Industrial feel with the black metal frame, but the cozy hug of the corduroy material. We know that the quality of the Renfrew couch and chair will grow and mature with us.
