Tell us a little bit about yourself and your space.
My name is Nicole and I’m an interior designer - primarily in kitchen and bath design. We bought a fixer upper with plans to renovate and knew we wanted to have a primary bedroom big enough to upgrade to a king bed. Since ceiling heights are lower – the Alexander upholstered bed was a great fit in the space as the headboard is lower than some of the other wingback style options available. I wanted to create a retreat that was bright and airy, yet warm and inviting. The texture of the bed paired with warmer accents, a wool rug and new wood floors helped to achieve that.
How would you describe your decorating style?
I love the elements of California casual and modern organic design styles and am not afraid to add moodier elements for depth.
Tell us about your favourite Urban Barn piece and why you love it
I love our Alexander king size bed as it’s well made and I love the texture and colour of the fabric. The bed is the perfect height, it was easy to assemble and it’s a great backdrop for any accent colours you want to work in with bedding.
