Our Customers Love Our Tufted Furniture!
So what makes this style of furniture so timelessly appealing?
At a basic level, tufting is achieved by pulling & folding the upholstered fabric/leather typically in a pattern with thread and twine, and securing it in place with buttons or knots. These clusters are what are referred to as “tufts”. What makes this technique so special is the visual “pop” this lends to an upholstered piece. Tufting can also highlight the distinct characteristics of different fabrics and truly add a different finishing touch to them. When tufted, velvet looks extra lush and soft, while leather tufting appears more supple and rich, and simple linen is transformed to a more opulent and refined fabric when tufted.
While you’ve definitely seen this technique applied to sofas, it’s becoming increasingly popular to style chairs, ottomans, chaise lounges and even headboards with elements of tufting. Most of the styles of tufted furniture falls into four categories: Diamond, Button, Biscuit, and Blind Tufting. What works best for you depends on what the dynamic of your personal style and existing space is. When it comes to small elements with big impact, all types of tufting can amp up the chic in your living room, bedroom, or even home office, because sometimes the beauty is in the details.
