Ellen Scobie was trained as a printmaker; therefore, layering colour and texture is her forte. She has essentially taken this process and moved it to digital – now, instead of layering ink or paint to create her imagery, she layers her own photography and scanned textures. She calls the finished product “Digital Mixed Media” because all the elements of a mixed media piece are there, but they’re done digitally.
