With Easter just around the corner and the kids home for a long weekend, preparing the Easter Feast may feel like you’re missing out on spending time with the family.  Unless of course you are lucky enough to have kids that like to help prepare food and decorate.

Here are a couple ways to combine quality time with the family, with all the preparations that are needed to make your Easter fabulous!

Easter Chick Deviled Eggs

Easter Chick Deviled Eggs – so easy and super cute!

Many families make deviled eggs part of their holiday spreads, and here is the cutest way to decorate them.  Great news, you probably have all of the ingredients in your house!

  • Boil the eggs for 12 minutes – when finished place in cold water to cool.
  • Roll the egg on a flat clean surface and peel.
  • Cut the top 1/3 of the egg off – this will be the top.
  • Remove the yolk and mix with salad dressing, paprika, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Evenly stuff the egg yolk mixture in the hard boiled bottom, place the top 1/3 on top.
  • Cut carrot and olives in small pieces and decorate as eyes and beak.

Fortune Easter Eggs

Fortune Easter Eggs
This is a great way for the family to stay busy at the kitchen table while the cook is slaving away on a fantastic meal.  At the end you will have both great memories and personalized table decor!

Just a few easy steps for such a great result!
  • Poke two holes in a clean egg using a small sterilized nail, one small hole at the top and one larger hole at the bottom.
  • Blow out the egg into a bowl – this can be done by using a thin straw, or syringe without a needle.  The key is to blow slowly to keep from breaking the egg.
  • Rinse the eggs in running water
  • Dry the eggs in a microwave for 15-30 seconds, and let them cool
  • Write personalized notes on small pieces of paper approx. 1 cm x 6 cm
  • Roll and insert into eggs
  • Place on table and enjoy some laughs!
