A DIY Mother’s Day

Those who know me well know that I LOVE Pinterest almost as much as I love my Mom. Inspiration is everywhere but it’s just so easy to find on Pinterest. If only there were enough hours in a day to try all of the projects I’m inspired to try.

I’ve shortlisted a few of my favorite DIY projects to attempt as easy Mother’s Day gift ideas.

Mother’s Day Macramé

Macramé dates back as early as the 13th century but is making a practical comeback in décor. This project is much simpler than it looks and you can easily finish this project for less than $30 (plant and pot included!)

Photo Blocks

For a custom made look, try this easy DIY. Use hooks and ribbon or apply the photo to a block deep enough to sit on a tabletop. Try using a black and white photo for a unique vintage look. This same technique can be used to make custom coasters – just be sure to protect them well with a good sealer.

Mason Jar Outdoor Chandelier

This project requires very few materials (but does require a few tools) and will create a big impact on the patio. Customize the look for Mom by using chain instead of twine, by painting the wood a colour to match her outdoor décor or by adding sand  to the jars. The options are limitless!
