how to measure
Tips on selecting the right furniture for your home, and ensuring a smooth delivery.
Step 1 - choosing the right furniture for your space.
It is helpful to map out the area in your room, using masking tape, where your furniture will live. This will help you determine the best pieces for your intended room layout. You can also use our great tool The Make Room to help plan your space!
Step 2 - ensuring a smooth delivery.
Measure the path your furniture will take from the time it leaves the delivery truck to when it arrives in it's final destination. Be sure to measure all entryways (A and B), as well as clearances beyond doorways (C). Please be mindful of obstacles such as light fixtures, ceiling heights, bannisters and turns.
Sofas: Measure the width (A) and diagonal depth (B)
Armoires, bookcases, entertainment units and other furniture: Measure the diagonal height (A) and depth (B).
Compare all measurements: will it fit into your home?
Prior to ordering your furniture, ask one of our sales associates to help you compare measurements:
The length of your sofa cannot exceed measurements B or C of your entryways.
The diagonal depth of your sofa cannot exceed measurement A of your entryways.
The diagonal height of your armoire or bookcase cannot exceed measurement B or C of your entryways.
The depth of your armoire or bookcase cannot exceed measurement B of your entryways.
Please note: This guide is meant to assist you in determining whether your furniture will fit - all size contraints should be considered from the delivery truck to your furnitur pieces' final destination. Our sales associates are happy to provide any measurements you may need.
