Cartwright

We’re all very excited about one of the newest additions to Urban Barn’s furniture line-up: the Cartwright Collection. The grey trend is everywhere – paint colours, fabrics and textiles, and now we’re seeing it with wood. This collection features a soft grey hue, and is sandblasted and wire-brushed to give it a textured finish that makes it really special.

The Cartwright’s smoky colour is so versatile -we’re loving this collection dressed up with bright fresh hues, which is great for spring! Here are some of our favourites:

Products featured: Bush Flame Leaf, Dragonfly Wine Stopper, Amara Charger Plate, Gypsie Dining Chair, Cara Placemat, Stem Leucosper Mum, Rolled Rim Vase - all from Urban Barn

winter solstice cocktail

Your holiday party schedule is probably filling up fast – you may even be hosting one yourself – and winter cocktails are a great way to warm things up! The Winter Solstice cocktail is one one of our favourite recipes.

Winter Solstice Cocktail

Yield: Makes one cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces orange vodka
  • 1/2 ounce orange-flavored liqueur, such as Cointreau
  • 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice, preferably from Meyer lemons
  • Ice cubes
  • Club soda, chilled
  • 1 mint leaf, for garnish
  • 1 raspberry, for garnish

Directions In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, orange liqueur, lemon juice, and ice; shake until well combined. Strain into a chilled martini glass; add a splash of soda. Carefully fold mint leaf in half lengthwise and place the stem end into the opening of the raspberry. Float on top of cocktail and serve immediately. Our Dawn glassware collection would be a great choice for this wintery drink!
